5 SEO Tips To Get Your Website Ranked Higher
For the aveage Webmaster, Search Engine Optimization is something akin to black magic. As a Dallas SEO it’s my belief that a lot of this is the result of all the misinformation flogged by scores of people calling their self SEO experts. For some, this is because they don’t know any better while others do it to keep their Clients in the dark about what they really do. Search Engine Optimization isn’t brain surgery peeps. It’s a systematic series of procedures that if done properly, will cause a Website to move up in the rankings.
First up, one should make sure that the main keywords are part of the web address if it’s possible. With everything except the domain names being equal, a Website with your keywords in the address will rank higher than a website without the keywords contained in the web address.
Next up, the keyword or keyword phrase should be used in the Website name. By doing this, you’re helping the search engines come to a conclusion as to what it is that you Website is all about.
You should also use keywords in the Title of each page or article on your site, or at least, some parts of a keyword phrase should be in the page Title. This also helps the search engines come to a conclusion as to what the subject of the page is, what it’s about and how relevant it is to the search term being searched for. As an added benefit, the Website or Blog should be designed so that the Page Title is in the H1 tag. Search engines rely a great deal on the H1 to tell them what the page is about and how relevant it is. If you’re using a Houston web design company, make certain they know how to do this one little thing.
If you have that done, it’s crucial that your keywords show up a few times in the content of the page. You should insert the keywords into the first paragraph somewhere and several more times througout the article depending on the length. It’s also important to put it near the end of the page or article. A few more times between the first and last paragraph won’t hurt, just be sure you work them at the first of the article and again at the end.
Last up, the most important aspect of Website Search Engine Optimization actually takes place off the page. In fact, it takes place off the site altogether. In my opinion, the most important thing in getting higher ranks for a Website is backlinks going back to your page on your Website. And it’s not enough to just get backlinks, these backlinks need to have your keywords as the Anchor text of the links back to your site.
How important are links back to your site? Well, I can rank a website that doesn’t have the keywords in the domain, one that doesn’t have keywords in the Website Title, Page Title and in the Content (although it’s much, much harder to do), but without anchored links back to your site going to your web page, {it’s impossible} to to get higher rankings in the search engines for any terms that are the least bit in high demand.
